UK Holiday Home Insurance - Ensuring your Holiday Home is adequately insured

Do you have UK Holiday Home Insurance?

Whenever you buy a holiday home in the UK, not only is it a significant investment, but also it will act as a haven for you to get away from the strains of everyday life. Therefore it is important that when considering insurance for your holiday home, you ensure that it provides adequate cover considering that it may be unoccupied for prolonged periods during the year, and may be used by other members of the family, friends or even holidaymakers renting the property.

Therefore CLICK4QUOTE.COM recommends that owners of holiday properties in the UK take out specialist UK Holiday Home Insurance. As well as providing suitable cover for the buildings when being used as a holiday property, cover can be purchased for your contents and furnishings, and there are additional benefits that are of great use.

The UK Holiday Home Insurance policy offered by Click4Quote.Com includes cover for Property Owners Liability AS STANDARD. In most cases this is covered up to £5 million. This is an important element of cover since there will often be a significant number of visitors to the property. If anyone were to suffer accidental bodily injury or damage to their property, they could make a claim against you, so it is recommended that this cover be in place.

In addition, our UK Holiday Home Insurance policy provides access to a 24 hour emergency help-line to assist with domestic emergencies (for example if you home is not secure following loss of keys or if your drains become blocked). This services also provides cover for the loss or theft of keys (either for the main door of the holiday home, or for an alarm).

One other useful element of cover offered is for loss or damage to personal effects and valuables and loss of money outside the property when you are on holiday. In addition cover can also be provided for garden ornaments, freezer contents and pedal cycles, and this is always worth bearing in mind.

Most policies will also cover the property if you sub-let it to holidaymakers, although there may some restrictions if you do this, and you should check your policy carefully if you do sub-let it at any time to ensure that you are complying with any relevant conditions.

If you have not checked your insurance recently, we recommend that you do just in case you are not adequately covered. If you have any concerns, we are more than happy to discuss your insurance requirements by email (enquiries@click4quote.com) or telephone (08450 89 90 91 Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm). As ever, we welcome your thoughts and suggestions, so please feel free to send us your feedback.

As holiday home may be left unattended for reasonably long periods, and may be located in a foreign country, it is important that the policy provides sufficient cover to meet these specialised circumstances.
